Well this is it...

We are all packed and ready to go...I think we've remembered everything.

Tomorrow we fly out at noon down to Atlanta with a 2 hour layover then onto Colombia. This time tomorrow night we should be just checking in.

It's unbelievable that this is really it. Reality didn't really set in for me until we started to pack. Up until then I was so busy that I really hadn't thought about things. But now - it's real - we are going to actually meet Carol, John-Freddy and Anji.

They have been a static image on our fridge for about a month now. It's funny cuz I feel like I already love them. Can that happen?

So we'll meet them on Thursday. We'll be driving 2 hours north of Bogotá and for the meeting and then driving back the same day with them - to the hotel.

People keep saying to me - "I can't imagine what must be going through your mind..." But I keep trying to put myself in the children's shoes. What they must be thinking and how they are going to feel about getting in a car with 2 perfect strangers who everyone keeps saying are "going to be your Mommy and Daddy now". This to me is the most important thing - keeping this in mind...cuz I know that the next few days are gonna take a lot of patience, love and understanding.

Well, I'm heading to bed. We'll make sure to update you along the way.

Thanks everybody, again, for all your support.
Scott

GODSPEED to you guys! We will be praying !

Love Chris and Shelley

Scott and Donna:
Everything is going to be fine because of only one thing.."love".. I escorted very sick children from Latin AMerica for medical treatment to the US... Some of them I felt so attached that I wanted to adop them.. One particular girl who got her hands burn on a floor stove when she was nine months old. I could adopt her in an instant!..
Your kids are healthy and normal kids and will be loved and they will love you back.. Of course there will be some adjustments but you will see that things will fall in place... There were some adjustments even with the bird of my own kids... I felt sometimes like who is this new creature in my life and changing the way I was going with my daily routines.

Who is going to drive you on Wednesday outside Bogota?? I have a big car. If you need my help let me know.. I am here to help you in any way I can. I can also translate or find any information that you may need.
Too bad you did not take my apartment..I feel that the kids would be more comfortable at a home type setting. ... The rooms are full of toys and they would have more to play and be distracted while they adjust to their new beginnings,. I have even changed all the beds for them when Sherrie told me that perhaps you would consider it. If the hotel does not work for you just let me know. THe apartment is well equipped and ready.. ANd it will be even cheaper than the hotel. We also have a nice park. ANd it is very safe here. Anyway it is just another option available.
Please call me after you arrive. I would like to see the earliest chance to meet you and the kids. If you feel I can drive you on Wed. it would be a treat to help. You both have my admiration.
By the way... you are thinking about what the children will be thinking?? Well in my experience....children are very resilient and adaptable and as long as their needs are met and they are loved....they are happy human beings. They attach to the adult or supervisor who loves them.. (This is just my opinion based on my experience with my own kids). I look forward to meeting you soon. LOve, GINA

We love you guys!! Best wishes, travel safe and please know I'm thinking of all of you every second of every day!

So glad this time has finally come for you. Tomorrow you will have forgotten all about the trials and tribulations of the last couple of weeks. :)

I suspect it is going to be an interesting next few weeks as you all adjust. Good luck and best wishes to you all as you become a family.

Hi Scott and Donna,

We will be praying for you as you begin this wonderful new adventure in your life. I can't wait to meet your children!

Much love,

Fred & Ginny

Have a safe trip and keep us posted!

Yeah Scott & Donna! The plane will be taking off soon...taking you closer and closer to your children! Love, patience and understanding...all attributes that will help you in all situations you face...and when we can't muster them up on our own, God has a way of giving us those attributes if we ask! I will be praying for those things for you both! Can't WAIT to hear the update...hopefully with pics?!?

Holly :)

WOW, it's finally time!! we will be praying for everything to go smoothly! enjoy every second!!

Scott and Donna,

Good luck on your trip and remember how fortunate you all are to have each other. I'm sure it'll be challenging (it always is between parents and children, just a little more so in your case), but the good times will outweigh the hard times. Our love to you all.

Love,
Unc "C" and Aunt Eileen
