We Are Approved!

The long awaited letter has finally arrived. We are happy to report that after reviewing our documents, the ICBF in Colombia has approved us as stated.........un grupo de tres hermanos donde el mayor de ellos tenga 7 anos de edad. My Spanish is rusty, but I was able to understand that this means that they will refer a group of 3 siblings where the oldest not being older than 7 years of age. Yes they said 3!!!!! We are so excited. We are told that referals of sibling groups of 3 can come rather quick. We could be meeting our children sometime this summer or early fall.

After this sunk in this morning, I started thinking 3 children under the age of 8. Hmmmmmm.....does 3 booster seats or car seats fit in the back seat of my car? Can we fit 3 beds in one bedroom? Which car is going to be in the driveway so we can fit the 3 bikes and hockey sticks and nets in the garage? Oh and lets not forget 5 plane tickets to get home!!!

So my organizing skills are really going to need to kick in now. I will try to get ready as much as we can without knowing the ages or sex of the children. We also attended another seminar this past weekend called "Parenting to Promote Attachment". We talked about the different ways that we can help the children attach and bond with us. One of the best ways we are told is to get on the floor and play, play and play with the children. They need to have as much time and attention from us as possible. We have decided that I will not be returning to work at least for the first year. These children need me and they do not recommend leaving them with another caregiver during the day. This will only delay or compromise the attachment process.

I have to say I have been getting some worried looks from people when I tell them we will be adopting 3 children. They gasp and look at me like I am crazy. But I don't know what they are talking about. I truly feel that this has been God's plan for our life and I am not worried at all and I am actually looking forward to hugging all my children. God is giving us one of his greatest gifts and I can't wait.

Stay tuned.

Donna

Donna-Scott, I am so excited for you, just about made me cry this morning. Seems fitting that the news comes between Mother's Day and Father's Day--Just think, next year you will each be shopping for cards for one another and just imagine what Christmas will be like--WOW. As you said, this is God's plan, so you were meant to have three and everything will work out. Cannot wait to meet th

The Magic Number is (3) !!!

Unbelievable...............three (3) little chitlins'. Wow, Brodyn and I can't wait to come over and show the kids how to play, Keefer style. A little barbies', a little coloring, a little nail polishing, and then we throw in some catching and throwing of balls and wrestling out in the back yard. And oh yes, some street hockey in the driveway. Sounds like a full day, when is nap time ? I am sure you guys' are full of excitement, and so are all of your friends' and family..................we can't wait to meet the new arrivals. (3) may be a handful at first, but you will have plenty of help. ( I think ! ) P.S. Brodyn told me she is hoping that 1 of the 3 is a little girl. Don't worry Scott, Brodyn likes hockey too.

Congratulations!!

Lin and I are axious to see them when you first bring them to Riverside....

Wow!

With 3 plus you two, you have enough for a basketball team. Maybe you should ask for a few more to get that Krebs football team going! Congratulations. Lee and I are thrilled for you!

Lotsa. Lotsa!!!!!!!

Having ONE new life enter your world is a big step....changing your family structure from 2 to 5 at variable ages....amazing! Sounds like the two of you are ready for the challenge.

Bueno...

Bueno...tres ninos. ?Estan Chicos o Chicas? The Goetz family wishes you all the best..can't wait to meet them. Man to Man defense is out of the question. You'll need to develop a zone.

hold on a minute...

Basketball?...I don't think so...these boys are gonna have only two pairs of shoes...their good Sunday ones and SKATES!

So totally fun....

I am soooooooo excited, I am wishing we were neighbors so I could see the little angels everyday! I love being a mom of 3 boys, they are so busy and dirty and loud and loving all in one. It is the easiest-hardest job in the entire world. You will soon become a part of an elite group, the group called parents. You will soon discuss bowel movements, ear wax, vegetable consumption and appropriate behavior! I know you and Scott well, and I am convinced this is your calling...speaking of calling, you will be calling for pizzaq, no time to cook! Luv Ya, Heidi Fortwangler-Irr Mother of 3 boys, one dog, two cats, 1 hamster and 1 fish, proudest of the boys!

Playing on the floor!

Scott and Donna, We are so happy for you and your soon to be 3 children! You are doing an amazing thing by rescuing 3 precious lives. I loved their recommendation to "play on the floor". It is interesting how Mommies and Daddies feel the most high when we get down low on the floor and laugh with our children. Cherie

Responding from Gramps Krebs remote computer

Scott and Donna: Mom, Dad and Mary have just figured out how ot use Dads laptop and now have Dad back hooked up on line. The first thing we did once back on line was to look for your wonderful blog page to see the great news! This is wonderful news. Lets hope it is 3 healthy wonderful children with running shoes attached to their feet. All our love Ken, Nancy and Mary Beth

¿¡Tres!? ¡Ay, Caramba!

Peter and I are so happy for you, Scott and Donna! I sure wish we were closer (TX, for those who don't know us), but hopefully someday soon we can meet your new family. I've loved reading all the supportive posts from your close family and friends. You both are truly special! (Can't wait to meet you someday, too, Donna, but I knew from the moment Scott told me about you that you were perfect! :) ) We're praying for both of you *and* your anticipated children. It is so excitig to see God's perfect plan unfold. Big Texas-sized Love and Prayers, Jill & Peter

congratulations

That is great news Scott and Donna!! Three will be handful but I am sure that was the way it was meant to be. If Scott's parents could handle four that were all close in age, 3 will be a snap! We are all very happy that your wish is finally coming true and those will be very, very lucky children to have parents who wanted them so badly. Good luck and have lots of fun! Kathy, David and Pat barnes. p.s. love the part about the hockey skates. I guess you still have a bit of Canadian in you!

CONGRATS--SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!

WOW! that is such amazing and exciting news! Those three precous children are going to be so blessed to have you guys and i'm sure you will feel the same way! It's been amazing to see this all come together for you and we can't wait to meet your family! =)

Excelente Noticia

Congratulations to you both. These little folks will be lucky to get included into your life and love. Please let me know if I can help you with any Colombia planning. Much love - Marnie
